Dr Tan Kian Teo is a Dermatologist whose areas of specialty include general and aesthetic dermatological conditions, and sexually transmitted infections. He performs various minimally invasive procedures like cryotherapy, electrocautery, chemical peels, intense pulsed light therapy, laser surgery, botulinum toxin A and filler injections. He also performs surgery for skin cancers and other benign skin lesions.
An area of special interest to Dr Tan is urticaria. He previously headed the Urticaria Clinic at the National Skin Centre. He has conducted various research studies on chronic urticaria in the local context. Another area of particular interest to Dr Tan is hair disorders. The Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Programme Fellowship was awarded to him in 2007 to further his interest in this field. He was attached to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, United Kingdom, from 2007 to 2008 where he conducted research and focused his training on hair disorders.
Dr Tan was formerly consultant at the National Skin Centre (NSC) and clinical tutor at the National University of Singapore. He is currently Visiting Consultant to NSC and Honorary Secretary of the Dermatological Society of Singapore.
