H1N1 has now establishes itself in many countries, including Singapore. There are already community spread within the nation. Most of these cases are relatively mild and patients do recover with only symptomatic treatment and rest. However complications can occur to patients who belong to high risk groups such as pregnant patients, patients on renal dialysis, very young children (below 5 yrs old), elderly patients (above 65 yrs old), patients with chronic lung diseases or heart conditions and immunocompromise patients such as those on chemotherapy.
H1N1 is here to stay and it is up to each and everyone of us to practice good hygiene and be socially responsible to keep this virus at bay. We hope that this web site will help to provide you with some information about what you can do to prevent falling ill with H1N1.
