What is Thread Lift?
It is a minimally invasive treatment where one or more dissolvable barbed surgical threads are inserted into the subcutaneous fat to help to lift the superficial layer of the skin upwards, without leaving scars on the skin.
This helps to reposition the soft facial tissues and to achieve the aims of face lifting and give patient a more tone and younger look.
When can it be used?
It can be used to achieve:
- Eyebrow lifting
- Cheek (Malar) lifting
- Jaw lifting
Who can use Thread Lift?
Anyone with mild to moderate sagging of the brow, cheek and jaw skin will see improvements in the lifting of their soft facial tissues.
How long does the procedure take?
60 to 90 minutes.
After the procedure:
- Treat skin gently when washing and applying make-up
- Sleep with 3 pillows and travel pillow
- Consume only soft food for the first few days
- No kissing / speaking / smiling / biting
- Dental treatment is only allowed after 2 months
- Gentle sports is only allowed after 21 days
- No shaving for men. If a shave is a must, use only new blades and allow 1 passage
Are there any side effects?
- Thread extrusions / breakage
- Infections
- Parasthesia-- usually temporary for 1 -2 months
- Facial swelling, bleeding and hematoma
- Headache / temporal pain
How soon can I expect to see the effects?
Soon after the operation, the repositioning and the lifting of the skin tissues can be seen immediately. Results continue to improve for a period from 2 months onwards for up to 12 months. The duration of effect lasts from 2-5 years
