Dr Loo Choon Yong

Dr Loo Choon Yong
Executive Chairman and
Co-Founder

Dr Loo Choon Yong co-founded the Raffles Medical Group in 1976 and was appointed as Executive Chairman in 1997. Dr Loo holds a number of directorships in several companies, including International Medical Insurers Pte Ltd and Raffles Hospital Pte Ltd.

Dr Loo was appointed by the President of Singapore as the Ambassador to the Italian Republic from March 2006 and Nominated Member of Parliament from January 2007. He chairs the Sentosa Development Corporation Ltd and Sentosa Golf Club. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University (SMU) and Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC). He also serves as Council Member to the North East Community Development Council (CDC). He is the Chairman of the Asian Medical Foundation Ltd.

Besides his medical training, Dr Loo also read Law at the University of London and is a member of Middle Temple.

Dr Loo was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2003 and the Distinguished Service Award in September 2005 from the Ministry of Home Affairs for contributions to Singapore’s fight against drug abuse.

Dr Wee Beng Geok is Associate Professor of strategy, management and organisation at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU ). She is also the Director of the Asian Business Case Centre at the University. She holds a PhD in Management Systems and Sciences from the University of Hull; a Master in Business Administration from Cranfield Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Singapore.

She has worked both in the corporate sector and academia and held management positions in various companies. She joined the Board on 27 November 2000.

Mr Tan Soo Nan
Independent Director

Mr Tan Soo Nan is the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Pools (Private) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Totalisator Board. Mr Tan is also concurrently the Chief Executive of Singapore Totalisator Board.

He is also a Member of the Income Tax Board of Review, Goods and Services Tax Board of Review, and Council Member of Football Association of Singapore. Mr Tan also serves on the board of several companies. Mr Tan was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Capital (Private) Limited and Senior Managing Director of DBS Bank and had over 29 years of experience in the banking industry.

He joined the Board on 28 July 2000.

Professor Lim Pin
Independent Director

Professor Lim Pin is Professor of Medicine at National University of Singapore (NUS ) and Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at the National University Hospital. He was the former Vice Chancellor of NUS from 1981 to 2000, and is accorded the highest academic title of ‘NUS University Professor’ in recognition of his work and achievements.

Professor Lim chairs the National Wages Council, Bioethics Advisory Committee, National Longevity Insurance Committee, Tropical Marine Science Institute Management Board and co-chairs the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology.

He joined the Board on 19 February 2001.

Mr Tham Kui Seng
Independent Director

Mr. Tham is a director of Straits Trading Company Limited, CapitaLand China Holdings Pte Ltd, SPI (Australia) Assets Pty Ltd and Alexandra Health Private Limited. He also serves on the Board of The Housing and Development Board (HDB) and chairs EM Services Private Limited. Mr. Tham was the former Chief Corporate Officer of CapitaLand Limited and the Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Residential Limited.

Mr. Tham holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, UK. He joined the Board on 1 October 2009 .

Mr Olivier Lim
Independent Director

Mr Olivier Lim was appointed CapitaLand’s Head of Strategic Corporate Development in August 2011 after 6 years as its Group Chief Financial Officer. He is concurrently the non-executive Chairman of Australand Holdings Limited, and a non-executive director of CapitaMalls Asia Limited, CapitaMall Trust Management Limited, and CapitaCommercial Trust Management Limited. Mr Lim also serves as a board member of Sentosa Development Corporation, and as the non-executive Chairman of its subsidiary Mount Faber Leisure Group Pte Ltd.

Prior to joining CapitaLand in 2003, he was Head of the Real Estate Unit in Citibank Singapore’s Corporate Bank. He first joined Citibank in 1989 after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London.

Mr Lim was named Chief Financial Officer of the Year in 2007 (for firms with market value of S$500 million or more) in The Business Times’ Singapore Corporate Awards. He was also named CFO of the Year by The Asset magazine in its 2010 Asian Awards. He was awarded Best Investor Relations by a CFO by IR Magazine for South East Asia for 2009, 2010 and 2011 and Pan-Asia for 2011.

He joined the Board on 1 October 2009.

Mr Koh Poh Tiong
Independent Director

Mr Koh Poh Tiong, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Singapore, is the Vice Chairman and Independent Director of Ezra Holdings Limited. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Breweries Limited (APB) from October 1993 to September 2008; thence, Chief Executive Officer (Food & Beverage) of the Fraser & Neave Group (F&N) from October 2008 to September 2011. Mr Koh retired from the APB and F&N Groups in October 2011, after having served 26 of his 41 years of corporate life with them.

He is currently Chairman of the Singapore Kindness Movement; and, a Director of PSA International, PSA Corporation Limited and Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited.

From April 2000 to March 2008, he was Chairman of the Agri-food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) and a member of the APEC Business Advisory Council representing Singapore from January 1999 to August 2001. His previous directorships included National Healthcare Group Pte Ltd, Media Corporation of Singapore Pte Ltd, Television Corporation of Singapore Pte Ltd, Wildlife Reserves Singapore Pte Ltd, Jurong Bird Park Pte Ltd , Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (as a Member) and Gan Eng Seng School Advisory Council (as Chairman).

For his contributions to AVA, he was bestowed the Public Service Medal National Day Awards 2007. He also received the Service to Education Award from the Ministry of Education in 2007 for his service to Gan Eng Seng School and the 1998 DHL/The Business Times Outstanding CE0 of the Year Award.

He joined the Board on 3 Oct 2011.

Mr Kee Teck Koon
Independent Director

Mr Kee Teck Koon is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of CapitaMalls Malaysia REIT Management Sdn. Bhd. (the manager of CapitaMalls Malaysia Trust listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad), and NTUC First Campus. He also holds directorship positions in CapitaMall Trust Management Ltd, Changi Airports International Pte Ltd, NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd, and Alexandra Health Endowment Fund.

Mr Kee retired as the Chief Investment Officer of CapitaLand Limited (listed on the SGX-ST) on 1 July 2009, a position he assumed since February 2007. Between April 2003 and January 2007, he was responsible for overseeing the CapitaLand group's Financial, Commercial and Retail businesses. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of The Ascott Limited from November 2000 to April 2003. The Ascott Group is today the largest serviced residence company in the world outside of the USA. Mr Kee has also held senior management appointments with several other organizations. He started his career in 1979 with the Singapore Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense where he remained until 1991.

Mr Kee holds a Master of Arts in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

He joined the Board on 3 Jan 2012.
